The University has set ambitious goals for achieving various sustainability objectives. We track our progress to demonstrate how much we have achieved and how far we still have to go.

Emory’s Atlanta campuses are about six miles from the downtown, Midtown and Buckhead areas. The Oxford Campus, the original site of Emory College when it was founded in 1836, is located about 40 miles east of Atlanta in Oxford, Georgia.

The Office of Sustainability was created in 2006 to guide Emory’s transformative practices and sustainable choices, but the University has followed a long path to becoming a recognized sustainability leader in higher education.

No matter your major or role in the sustainability community, educational opportunities do not end in the classroom. Internships and alumni engagements connect you with industry leaders, new innovations and professional development opportunities.

When you volunteer, you get to know others who are passionate about the environment and help make your community stronger. Join an advisory group to help inform Emory’s approach to sustainability, volunteer at upcoming events, and find other ways to get involved.

Sometimes a high-impact project or idea just needs a little push to get off the ground. The Office of Sustainability Initiatives provides financial incentives and resources that can help make your vision a reality.

The Emory Office of Sustainability Initiatives (OSI) proudly supports sustainability and social justice projects led by Emory students, faculty, and staff through its grant funding programs. Census Day 2020

April 1, 2020

April 1 is Census Day, a key reference date for the 2020 Census. Households should have received information about completing the Census by mail in March. When completing the Census, you will include everyone living in your home on April 1, 2020.

Students who were residents at Emory before transitioning to remote learning, should still be considered residents at Emory for the purpose of the Census, meaning they should not be counted at their non-Emory addresses. More information for students can be found on the Emory Votes Initiative website.
