4+1 MS in Environmental Science Information Meeting
February 11, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Department of Environmental Sciences (ENVS) is excited to announce the expansion of the 4+1 MS to majors throughout Emory College. Previously restricted to students majoring in ENVS, students who are interested in interdisciplinary research that combines their current major with research being conducted by faculty in ENVS are encouraged to attend the information meeting to find out more about this opportunity.
Students who are accepted and enroll in the 4+1 MS in ENVS program will participate in research-oriented training in both the natural and social sciences to address the complex scientific and societal issues of environmental science. Students engage in rigorous research in their area of specialty and will produce an original thesis based on their research. By the completion of the MS program, students will be prepared for continuing their research in a PhD program or using their degree as a terminal degree, having received preparation for employment across the spectrum of professional opportunities – governmental, non-governmental, non-profit, etc.
Research in ENVS is broad, but students who are especially interested in the areas of Ecology and Conservation, Disease Ecology and Global Health, Environmental Policy, Resource Management, Sustainability and Development, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Urban Environment and Geography and Spatial Sciences, are encouraged to attend.
Detailed information about the 4+1 MS in ENVS is linked here. An information meeting will be held on Thursday, February 11 at 6:00 p.m. (EDT) via Zoom. Registration is linked here.
