The Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library at Emory University is excited to partner with George Staib and Kristin O’Neal from Emory’s Dance and Movement Studies Program to present Move, Preserve, Sustain on Friday, April 22, 2022, at noon with a second performance at 4:00pm as part of Emory’s 2022 Earth Day celebration.

Move, Preserve, Sustain is an enlivening of the Rose Library’s environmental sustainability collections through the celebration of the natural spaces at Emory’s main campus. Performances will start below the Mizell Bridge off Fishburne Drive. Audience members will travel in an accessible and meditative procession to the Main Quad and end at the Sustainable Garden across from Cox Hall.

Performers include Kristin O’Neal, members of staibdance, and students from the Emory Dance and Movement Studies Program. Featured musicians include birds, swaying trees, and the human music of bodies in motion as well as Guang Wang (cellist) and Yinzo Kong (Viola) from the Vega String Quartet, Quartet-in-Resident at Emory University.

Dancers from Move, Preserve, Sustain will also perform on April 23, 2022 at 4:00pm as part of National Water Dance, of which Kristin O’Neal is an organizer.
