The environments in which people live are inextricably linked to quality of life, and therefore, tied to the pursuit of more sustainable systems. The placement of many landfills, truck depots, pipelines, incinerators, power plants, and other polluting industries disproportionately in communities of color and low-income neighborhoods is unjust and worsens existing health disparities and overall wellness and wealth-building. We challenge our sustainability network to educate ourselves on the importance of environmental justice and how we can all further the movement.
